Custom box-style turkey call made/signed/dated by the late Donald L. "Bucky" Thomas (1931-2021) of New Cumberland and Lewistown Pennsylvania. Call was custom crafted for Tom Weller in April 2006 and, to my knowledge, was never hunted. Mr. Thomas made his living as a custom furniture/cabinet maker and his talent shows in his turkey calls. The bottom board and end plugs appear to be American Black Walnut. The sides and striker 'lid' might be Sumac but I'm not certain. The call has a great sound. It will call softly but will also reach out with a raspy 'old hen' sound. A nice call to add to your collection and/or to take Gobbler hunting this Spring.
